Story

I came to New Zealand and the UC Canterbury in 2009 with an exchange program from my home university TU Darmstadt, Germany, studying towards a degree (Diplom) in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration/Economics. I am interested in renewable energies and contacted Dr. Susan Krumdieck about research opportunities in this field. The geothermal plant modelling project gave me a great insight into plant modelling techniques and applied thermodynamics. I also got the chance to visit power stations such as wind, hydro and geothermal. Inspired by this work, I will continue learning/researching about renewable energies and sustainability back in Germany.
