Projects for 2008
Wind Charger
The project is to work with a PhD student to design, install, commission, and test a wind battery charging system. We have a 500 W wind turbine, and we want to have a charging system for an electric scooter.
Travel Demand
Travel demand is a very important data set for determining carbon footprint, energy risk, and planning for future transport options. This project is to work with a PhD student to trial a new type of travel survey technology. Students and staff at the university will be surveyed. The second stage of the project will be working on the changes that people would make if there was a fuel shortage. The project may also work with the PhD student on this novel type of behaviour survey software.
